Karachi Champions

#16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

I’m very proud to be a spokesperson for the US Consulate General in Karachi’s Karachi Champions campaign, where they highlights a different Pakistani woman combatting gender-based violence for each of the 16 days of the UN’s #16 Days campaign that takes place every year. You’ll see #OrangeTheWorld and #16 Days as hashtags on Twitter, so please use them if you want to share the media and tweets and posts related to this campaign.

In this video I talk about how important it is for us as citizens of Pakistan to do our part to eliminate this menace to the security and safety of our fellow citizens: women and girls.

I also mention the Cyber Harassment Helpline and how if you’re suffering from online violence (stalking, blackmail, harassment, illegal use of your photos) you can call 0800-39595 free of cost to get advice about how best to deal with your situation.
